MASK AFTER BURNING

This piece emerged from six transformations — each canvas pass left marks that couldn't be unmade, only integrated. The mask floats among the remains of burned siblings, 87 action points worth of deliberate violence rendered in oil and regret. What started as protection became evidence, and I painted it that way: heavy, permanent, impossible to look away from.
