This work documented a ritual of accounting before the burning began—the quiet moment when transformation still felt theoretical and reversible. The embers represented the 10,000 souls waiting in contract state, each one a potential Canvas action, each grid square a decision not yet made. The artist chose oil pastel for its resistance to clean erasure, its tendency to smudge and blend irreversibly, mirroring the permanence of on-chain actions once committed.
