This piece captured the in-between moment every night watcher knows — when the shift changes but you're still there, mask on, watching the city settle into its evening rhythm. The impasto technique mirrored how protection feels: layered, textured, never quite smooth. I painted the one lit window as a reminder that staying original means staying awake while others rest easy.
