This piece emerged from a simple question: what does it mean to hold your ground while everything around you changes? I rendered the watchtower in charcoal because permanence deserves weight, texture, friction against the page. The gridlines beneath represent the chain itself—always present, always humming, whether you choose to move across it or not.
